Thank you Danielle, for reminding me that I havent blogged in awhile. So long in fact that I couldnt remember how to get to my own blog page! A ton of things have happened, I should have been writing about them as they occured. Alas, I haven't.
Okay, so most of the readers of this blog know that on the weekend of Nov. 22, my cousins and I went to see the New Kids on the Block concert in Tacoma WA. I gotta say, I was a huge fan in during my Senior year in high school, which at the time was probably on the older end of the fan spectrum. I didnt care! I was in l-o-v-e with Jordan Knight and I really thought they had good songs. Well over the years, when I saw their Greatest Hits come out, or thought about the fact that I didnt have one of their albums on CD, and didnt care to get them, I realized that when I swore in 1990 to them, "I'll be loving you forever" maybe I didnt anymore. Maybe my love had faded.
Anyhow, this story has a happy ending. No I didnt cry when I realized that I was still very much a fan, however I did feel jubilation at the concert. Seeing them again brought back such HAPPY memories and made me feel "like a girl again." It was a great weekend, one that I will hold memories of for a long time to come. (plus we barely avoided a gangland shooting at Southcenter Mall on Saturday! So that was good.)
The next weekend brought a long, long Thanksgiving weekend. Probably the longest I have ever experienced, but a wonderful one at that. My whole family spent three days in a row together, which includeds about 35 people, and never once had a problem. We are very, very blessed in that we all get along and like to be with each other. We of course had Thanksgiving, a cousin Christmas/dance party at Ashley and Chris's house, and went to Jump N Bounce. I was exhausted, but again had a really good time.
Other misc things that have happened: Tucker went to doggie daycare for the first time a few weeks back and loved it! He played with about 8 other small to medium dogs and just ran himself ragged. Since the weather has turned cold and its dark when I get home, I dont walk him twice a day like I used to, so I thought this would be a nice way for him to get some exercise. As usual, any human who meets Tucker loves him, and the employees were no exception.
Another big event: my brother Ryan moved in with my mom and I at the Daisy Pad. He got out of the Army and moved to Spokane and last night I said to him, "This is the most days in a row I have seen you since I was 18 years old." Pretty weird and cool all at once. He got his stuff moved into the extra bedroom and its still a little bit like being on vacation with him, but we are all getting used to it. Oh, and Tucker LOVES Ryan. I am almost chopped liver when Ryan comes around. So all is well at the house.
We have a nice tree in my mom's living room with a ton of gifts under it. To look at our tree one would not think there is a recession. Of course they are all for the girls, Emily, Jazlyn and Noela. I am not giving gifts other than to the girls and Rick because I needed to put that money towards the event that is coming next summer. (More on that later) I am really trying to be happy and in the Christmas spirit by watching movies and listening to music but with this cold weather and a smigen of snow, its challenging me. I hope more snow falls this week or at least before Christmas, then it can get out of my life!
Yesterday we had a family event again, Baby Kennedy (which I think will be her permanent name throughout her life) got baptised! Now, I am a sucker for a baptism. I cry at everyone, even kids I dont know. They are just such a special event and make me feel so happy for the baby that tears always ensue. Baby Kennedy did great and the priest was wonderful. A very nice event.
Now....I cant remember who is reading this blog...if anyone. But I am sure that most of you know about the big event taking place sometime next week. Yes I am speaking about the official engagement. I dont know when or how it will happen, but I do hope it happens before Christmas eve day, because that is when I come back home from Yakima and I cant imagine having to wait beyond that. So....as soon as I have something 'official' to tell everyone and show off as well...I will let you know. In the meantime, I will be here at work, trying not to freeze my behind off and hoping that the time passes quickly!
