Last night I couldnt go to sleep, it was a bit early...10:00pm, but the night before I had fallen right to sleep at 10 so I thought I could do it again. No. I had looked a few times before for any old diarys that would have mentioned Rick and not found any so I took a new approach last night and looked inside my old peechees. Yes, I still have all my old peechees from 8th grade through high school. They were very important to me back then as I filled the outside of them with song lyrics, quotes and poems. (I was very dramatic if you didnt know that about me already.)
Anyway, I found a peechee that had Rick's name all over it, written in differnet fonts and colors...it made me laugh so hard just seeing that. Then I started looking inside them and found a little 'manuscript' of sorts...a detailed explaination/story of when and how and why I started to like Rick in the fall of 1988. (WOW! Thats 20 years ago!) The reason why I was hoping to find something like this is because neither one of us can remember very much of that time we spent together. Of course we do have some memories, but not the details, and now I have rediscovered them. Its the Motherload!
There are about 12 pages, college ruled, front and back detailing everything that took place between the first of Sept. to Thanksgiving. Sadly I didnt finish the 'diary' of the story of Rick and I because there is about a month missing. We went on to attend a dance together and none of that is written about. In fact, the last thing I did write was ironically, "I'm going to Rick's house!" Which in fact, on Thursday, I am. Its just 20 years later!!
I now know some of the funny stuff he said and did that made me like him then, some of the time we spent together and what was said between us, (I was a very detailed girl) and just other sweet things...ahhh innocence!
One of my favorite things that I wrote down was a story about my BFF Kelli and I and a few other girls, were getting a ride from Rick and Erika after school and we stopped by The Pit Stop, (was that what it was called?) and when Rick went inside, Kelli and I proceeded to talk about him and she said, " Good luck...he's really good looking." LMAO!!!
